Dear New Recruit
Welcome to your Distraction Agent Training.
You may be surprised to find yourself here. Perhaps you were referred by a friend or colleague. Or maybe we noticed you. Your prowess at puzzles, or your approach to online personality quizzes attracted our attention.
Or you may have volunteered, in response to one of our adverts (that you were, of course, supposed to see), because you are as intrigued by us, as we are by you.
However we found each other, we trust you will enjoy tackling the challenges ahead. My colleagues at The Department have created some short films that will guide you through them. You’ll find the links below. Please ensure that you have the Resources that we sent you to hand, and then work your way through the Induction Communications below at your own pace.
If you have any problems accessing the materials, please contact us at info@delphineapollinaire and we will allocate an Agent to assist.
And if you find yourself a little stuck, there are a few hints and clues here that should get you back on track.
And please, remember, this information is not to be shared. It wouldn’t benefit anyone for The Department to become public knowledge. People enjoy our work, and they’d miss it if it had to stop. Trust us on this. Things are better, more pleasant, just the way they are. And anyway, as you’d expect with all of our work, this programme has been created with built-in plausible deniability. We’re not too modest to say it’s something at which we excel.
We look forward to working with you.
Good luck
Lockhart
Communication 001
Time to find the New You.
Make sure you give this proper thought, you’ll be living with your decision for a long time.
Communication 002
A chance to showcase your logical deduction skills, and an opportunity to take a small risk, if you wish. No pressure…
Communication 003
Everyone needs a friendly face when they start a new job. How else would you know where the nice biscuits are hidden?
Communication 004
Street Team may be where everyone starts, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s easy. Sparking the public’s imagination takes skill and creativity.
Communication 005
It’s all about putting the right distraction in the right place. How are your observation skills..?
Communication 006
Welcome to The Department family. Freya is here for you. Under very specific circumstances.
Communication 007
Stories should be infectious, if they’re told well enough.
Communication 008
Did you know that a Trap Street is a non-existent road that cartographers include on their maps so they can see if someone has copied their work? Something to look out for, perhaps.
Communication 009
Perhaps not fitting in, is what makes you so good at what you do.
Communication 010
Do you know what you like? Confident about your decisions? Are you sure..?
Communication 011
Welcome distraction, or deliberate deception? And whichever you decide, can you live with it?
Communication 012
How does it feel, to have got this far?
